Cyclic adenosine monophosphate-stimulated transport of amino acids in kidney cortex.

چکیده
1. Cyclic adenosine 3’,5’-monophosphate and N6-2’-Odibutyryl cyclic adenosine 3’,5’-monophosphate stimulate the active cellular entry and cumulative uptake of several amino acids in rat kidney cortex slices. 2. Parathyroid hormone, known to augment cellular production of cyclic adenosine 3’,5’-monophosphate by stimulating renal cortical adenyl cyclase, increases the renal cortical uptake of amino acids. Antidiuretic hormone and insulin, hormones which do not stimulate renal cortical adenyl cyclase, have no effect on the renal cortical uptake of amino acids. 3. Characteristics of the NG-2’-0-dibutyryl cyclic adenosine 3’,5’-monophosphate stimulation of amino acid transport include a delay in stimulation of transport, blockade of stimulation by inhibitors of protein synthesis, and inhibition of the expression of the effect by either sodium-free incubation or ouabain exposure.

Stimulation of amino acid transport in rat liver slices by epinephrine, glucagon, and adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate.
Net transport of ar-aminoisobutyric acid (AIB) was increased in liver slices prepared from rats injected with hydrocortisone, epinephrine, or glucagon. When slices from untreated animals were initially incubated for 15 min with glucagon or cyclic adenosine 3’, 5’-monophosphate (cyclic AMP) subsequent uptake of AIB in the presence of either agent was greater than in control experiments; epinephr...
متن کاملEffects of long-term frozen storage on the compositions of free amino acids and nucleotide-related compounds of the coconut crab Birgus latro
This study examined the effects of long-term frozen storage (-20 °C for 5 months) of free amino acids (FAAs) and nucleotide-related compounds (NRCs) in muscle and hepatopancreas of the coconut crab Birgus latro. Although long-term frozen storage had little effect on FAA composition in muscle, the amounts of several FAAs increased in the hepatopancreas that may be the result of protein decom...

متن کاملStimulated formation of cyclic adenosine 3':5'-monophosphate by aspartate and glutamate in cerebral cortical slices of guinea pig.
The content of cyclic adenosine 3’ : 5’-monophosphate (cyclic AMP) in guinea pig cerebral cortical slices increases approximately 40-fold during a lo-min incubation and 80-fold during a ZO-min incubation in a medium containing 10 mM L-glutamate. A similar increase was observed in levels of radioactive cyclic AMP derived from intracellular adenine nucleotides, labeled by a prior incubation with ...
متن کاملStimulation of lysine decarboxylase production in Escherichia coli by amino acids and peptides.
A commercial hydrolysate of casein stimulated production of lysine decarboxylase (EC 4.1.1.18) by Escherichia coli B. Cellulose and gel chromatography of this hydrolysate yielded peptides which were variably effective in this stimulation. Replacement of individual, stimulatory peptides by equivalent amino acids duplicated the enzyme levels attained with those peptides. There was no indication o...
